Footprints In the Sand

One night I had a dream. I was walking along the beach with my Lord. In the sky, I saw scenes from my life flashing one at a time. For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand. One belonged to me, and the other belonged to my Lord.

I began to notice that at the lowest and saddest times in my life, there were only one set of footprints. This made me want to ask why I would be left alone at times when I needed my Lord the most.

“Lord, you once told me you’d never leave me nor forsake me. But I noticed that during the lowest and saddest times in my life, there was only one set of footprints. Why would you leave me when I needed you the most?”

“Oh, my dear precious child. I have never left your side. During the most difficult times in your life when you saw only one set of footprints, it was then when I picked you up and carried you myself. I am with you always. I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Moses encouraged his people in Deuteronomy 31:6. “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Hebrews 13:5 says, “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, for God has said: “Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.”

Proverbs 15:3 says, “The eyes of the Lord are in every place, seeing the evil and the good.”

Jeremiah 23:24 says, “Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him?” says the Lord. “Do I not fill heaven and earth?”
